Non-surgical Spinal Decompression
Located in Destin, Florida
Maybe you’ve had back surgery that didn’t help—or you’re hoping to avoid surgery altogether. Whether you’re struggling with a herniated disc, chronic neck or low back pain, or sciatica, non-surgical spinal decompression may be the breakthrough you’ve been looking for.
Many patients at Beachside Chiropractic & Wellness have already found relief—without injections, invasive procedures, or lengthy recovery times. Our advanced decompression therapy is designed to help you get back to living pain-free.

What is Spinal Decompression?
It is a non-surgical therapy that gently stretches the spine to relieve pressure on compressed discs and nerves, helping reduce pain and promote natural healing.

Common Conditions Helped by Decompression
- Herniated or Bulging Discs:
Herniated or bulging discs press on nearby nerves, causing pain, numbness, or tingling. Spinal decompression creates space to relieve pressure and support natural disc healing. - Sciatica:
Sciatica is often caused by disc pressure on the sciatic nerve. Spinal decompression gently reduces that pressure, helping relieve pain and restore function. - Spinal Stenosis:
Spinal stenosis is a narrowing of nerve pathways in the spine, causing pain and inflammation. Decompression relieves pressure, easing pain and improving mobility. - Low back or neck pain:
Chronic low back or neck pain is often caused by disc compression or joint dysfunction. Spinal decompression gently relieves pressure on the spine, reducing pain and improving mobility. - Pinched nerves:
Pinched nerves occur when spinal pressure irritates or compresses a nerve root. Spinal decompression relieves that pressure, helping reduce pain, numbness, and tingling. - Degenerative disc disease:
Degenerative disc disease causes discs to thin and lose flexibility, leading to pain and stiffness. Spinal decompression reduces pressure on affected discs, helping improve mobility and relieve discomfort. - Chronic inflammation:
Chronic inflammation in the spine can irritate nerves and restrict movement. Spinal decompression reduces mechanical stress, helping calm inflammation and promote healing.
Why We Use the DOC Decompression Table:
At Beachside Chiropractic & Wellness, we are committed to delivering the most precise, effective, and comfortable spinal decompression therapy available. That’s why we’ve invested in the industry-leading DOC Decompression Table—a state-of-the-art system that goes far beyond traditional traction devices.
Unlike basic traction setups that apply a general pull to the spine, the DOC table is a fully motorized, computerized system that allows our team to make highly specific mechanical adjustments based on your condition and spinal anatomy. With the DOC table, we can program exact angles of pull and pressure, and even flex or extend the table to isolate individual spinal segments, such as the L4/L5 or L5/S1 discs in the lower back or targeted areas in the cervical spine.
This precision targeting is especially important when treating herniated or bulging discs, degenerative disc disease, or compressed nerves. It ensures that only the affected area is decompressed, minimizing strain on surrounding healthy tissues and improving both comfort and outcomes.
Additionally, the DOC table features real-time feedback and safety settings, allowing us to monitor patient response during treatment and make instant adjustments as needed. This gives us the ability to adapt each session for maximum effectiveness while keeping you completely relaxed and secure.
How it works:
The DOC table gently applies a decompressive force that creates a “reverse vacuum effect.” This helps pull oxygen, hydration, and nutrients back into the injured disc space while drawing out waste and inflammation. Combined with therapies like laser, myofascial release, and corrective chiropractic care, this process supports natural healing at an accelerated pace.

Whether you’re dealing with chronic back pain, post-surgical complications, or sciatica that just won’t quit, our use of the DOC table allows us to provide a higher level of customized care—helping you avoid invasive procedures while accelerating your body’s natural healing process.
– Dr. Kathryn

What to expect during your visit:
After completing a short intake, you’ll meet with Dr. Kathryn Martine for a comprehensive consultation. She’ll ask about your symptoms, daily challenges, and goals—whether that’s returning to workouts, lifting your child, or simply sleeping through the night.
You’ll then receive a detailed orthopedic and neurological exam. Dr. Kathryn will review any existing X-rays or MRIs you have, take new spinal X-rays if needed, or refer you out for advanced imaging like an MRI to ensure an accurate diagnosis. Once your condition is fully evaluated, we’ll create a personalized decompression plan tailored to your specific needs.
